Registering Your Work
PRO (BMI, ASCAP, SESAC)
When your original music is performed on radio, or in a live venue, or is streamed online, you are entitled to a performance royalty. This performance royalty is collected by a Performing Rights Organization (or P.R.O.) such as BMI or ASCAP on behalf of the songwriters and publishers .
To tap into this revenue you must be affiliated with one of the Performing Rights Organizations. This is a time consuming task that we can take care of for you.
Digital Performance Royalties are paid to featured artists and the copyright owners. The SoundExchange receives reports from services that digitally transmit your sound recordings and distribute the royalties quarterly. To receive payments processed by SoundExchange you must register with SoundExchange. This is a time consuming task that we can take care of for you.
When you write or record your song, technically, you’ve created it — and thus you own the copyright to it. By submitting a song to the copyright office, you’re protecting your music simply by acknowledging the date of its creation. This is a time consuming task that we can take care of for you.
While Copyright laws protect creative works, trademark laws govern the naming rights and goodwill in the brand. Although federal registration of a mark is not mandatory, it has several advantages, including notice to the public of the registrant's claim of ownership of the mark, legal presumption of ownership nationwide, and exclusive right to use the mark on or in connection with the goods/services listed in the registration. Trademark registration is a time consuming task that we can take care of for you.
